Your wedding ceremony should sound like the two of you. Not like the couple who got married at this venue last weekend, and not like the one who'll be married here next weekend.
If your dream day involves a woodland, a beach, a converted church, an alpaca farm, your back garden, a pub, themed costumes, your dog, your blended family all on the front row, or all of the above at once, we are going to get on famously.
Everything grows with love, let your story be told. Bespoke ceremonies with a sprinkle of laughter and a ray of love.
You can expect a ceremony that sounds like the two of you and not like something off a template.
Who I Love Working With
Couples who don't want a wedding that looks like everyone else's. Couples who'd rather have a smaller, cosier, more personal day than something massive and impersonal. Blended families with kids you want to include. Multicultural couples who want to honour both sides. Gay, lesbian, transgender couples who want a ceremony that just gets on with celebrating love. Anyone planning a self-marriage or a pet wedding (yes, I've got you).
Age is irrelevant. Budget bracket is irrelevant. What matters is you've got an idea in your head of how you want this day to feel, and you don't want anyone smoothing the edges off it.
The Real Talk About Getting Legally Married
The Part You'll Remember
In England and Wales, celebrants like me cannot legally marry you. I know, I know. Stay with me though, because this is genuinely good news.
Most of my couples pop into their local register office a few days before their celebrant ceremony, sign the paperwork in five minutes with two witnesses, and pay around 60 pounds (in Norfolk). That's the legal bit done. Then we get to do the real wedding, the one with your people, your venue, your vows, your story, your music, your tears and your laughter, with absolutely none of the restrictions registrars have to follow.
So when I say I'm your celebrant, I mean I'm the one writing and delivering the ceremony that everyone will actually remember. The legal bit is just admin.

Rituals That Make a Ceremony Feel Like Yours
A ritual isn't compulsory, but if you want to add a layer of meaning or include the people who matter to you, here are a few favourites.
-
Handfasting
Your hands tied together with cords or ribbons in colours that mean something to you. Where the phrase "tying the knot" comes from. Beautiful, ancient, and surprisingly emotional.
-
Ring Warming
Your wedding rings are passed through every guest's hands during the ceremony. Each person silently sends a wish or blessing through them before they reach you. By the time you slide them on, the rings are saturated with love. Wonderful for inviting everyone in, and works for any beliefs (or none).
-
Sand Blending
Different colours of sand layered into one bottle by you and your nearest. A favourite for blended families, because the kids can be properly involved and the finished bottle becomes a keepsake on your mantelpiece.
-
Planting Ritual
Plant a tree, plant fruits, scatter seeds. A living symbol of your love that grows alongside your marriage. Made for nature lovers.
-
And Plenty More
Wine or whisky mixing, a unity shot, jumping the broom, time capsules. If there's a ritual that means something to you, we'll work it in.
East Anglia wedding venues
Venues I Adore (And Would Love to Marry You At)
Norfolk has some of the best wedding venues in the country, and I'm slightly biased but I'll fight you on it. A few I'd happily marry you at any day of the week:
-
The Flint Room, Norwich
for a converted-church wedding with serious atmosphere
-
Norwich Arts Centre
for couples who want creative and characterful
-
Fy-Camp
for a relaxed outdoor celebration
-
Happy Valley Norfolk
for woodland weddings
-
Glamping with Llamas
because yes, alpacas and llamas are an option
-
The Bell Hotel Saxmundham
for Suffolk couples
-
Rookery Meadow
for outdoor charm
-
Reading Room Weddings
for something a little different
If your venue isn't on this list, I almost certainly still want to know about it. Beach, woodland, garden, pub, barn, museum, cricket pitch. Tell me where and I'll be there.
Why Couples Pick Me
I'm a storyteller. I've spent 13 years telling other people's stories well enough to raise vital funds for charities, and the years before that working in roles where I had to read a room and connect with anyone in front of me. I'm also a former Toastmaster, BSL trained, and a believer that the ceremony is the start of the celebration, not the veg before the dessert.
I'm laid back. I'm non-judgemental. I love a chat. I think love is love. And I will write you a wedding ceremony that sounds like nobody else's, because nobody else is you.
Common Questions
Can you marry us legally?
In England and Wales, no celebrant can. You'll do the legal bit at your local register office (it takes five minutes, two witnesses). The cheapest registrar in Norfolk is £62 but you do need to book around a year in advance. Depending on the day, prices go up to £825 (2027 prices pending on the date and venue). Your celebrant ceremony with me is the real wedding everyone will remember.
